GRF Hublag Microfinance Foundation Inc. along with OPA and DA province conducted training for Hublag Rice Farming partners (across 7 municipalities/branches) held at Gerry Roxas Convention Center, Dayao Roxas City.

The training was conducted by Amefil Sagge, Assistant Provincial Agriculturist/Provincial Agriculturist Rice Program Coordinator.

Capiz is the 3rd largest Rice producing province in region 6 with an area of 50,546.02 has. In which 13,608.47 has ( 27% ) is Irrigated, 34,288.52 has ( 68 %) rainfed and 2,64.03 ( 5 % ) is upland.

• Increase frequency of weather extremes ( e.g. super typhoon , flood, droughts)

• Changes in crop yields

• Increase in pest and disease incidence

• Loss of fertile coastal lands

• More unpredictable farming conditions
